I.D. & Baobinga – Bass Music Sessions

Posted in Uncategorized on March 1, 2010 by bentactic

UK dance music producers I.D. & Baobinga just dropped a new album that offers a great look at whats going on in the UK bass driven dance music scene.  They are doing a ‘ pay what you want’ offer for the album, so if you are complete cheapskate you can get it for free, or you can support good music.  All proceeds go to the Dove House Hospice in Hull, UK.

The album has received  dj support from the likes of 2562, Claude Von Stroke, Sinden, TRG, Buraka Som Sistema, Ginz, Untold, LVis1990, Jackmaster and plenty more.

Grab the album over at their Bass Music blog:

Lou Rip – End of the Free World (Tactic Remix)

Posted in Uncategorized on February 26, 2010 by bentactic

This is a recent remix we did for a Kansas City rapper named Lou Rip.  The original is really fast so we kept with the uptempo vibe and flipped it into a kuduro meets hip-house vibe.

Ludacris x Starkey – ‘How Low, Luv?’

I have not been into most of the dubstep/hip-hop blends I’ve heard, but every so often I came across one that really works and DJ Cable did it right with this one.   The acapella from the newish Ludacris track ‘How Low” pairs really well with Starkey’s excellent ‘Ok Luv’ off his forthcoming sophmore album on Planet Mu (its a great album, make sure you check it out when it drops).

Cosmin TRG

Cosmin TRG has been killing it for years now, and his new release on Tempa is one of the best releases I have heard in a long time.  I think it is a sign of the shift going on in the dubstep scene when a stalwart label like Tempa is releasing music like this.

Couple of my favs from the release.
